A dog's perspective
Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 03:06AM Dogs are a big part of American culture. We call them "man's best friend," etc. One of the biggest reasons for that, I believe, is the way our dogs act toward us. Every pet owner has made their abundant share of stupid mistakes in living with, and caring for them. Yet, our pets don't seem to hold it against us. They have the wonderful ability to keep coming back to us with that wagging tail, letting us know that all is forgiven. I remember reading a quote a while back (the author is unknown) that said, "God, please let me be half the man my dog thinks I am." A dog really has a way of making you feel appreciated. They act genuinely happy to see you. They are grateful for every little thing you do for them.
Hmmm.........
Ok, let's apply this to our relationships with people. Do we forgive easily? Do we make people feel that we're really happy to see them? Do we make them feel appreciated? Are we truly grateful for what others do for us? Maybe there's a reason dog is God spelled backwards.....
