And now, a word from...

"Salvation is from our side a choice; from the divine side it is a seizing upon, an apprehending, a conquest by the Most High God. Our accepting and willing are reactions rather than actions."

Thought for the day...

Today's lil' nugget comes from Joshua 1:9 (ESV):

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Note that this is not a suggestion. Our Lord is, quite frankly, ordering us to trust Him, and place our lives in His capable hands. It's interesting to see what happens "when the rubber meets the road," as the old tire ad used to say. It's easy to say we trust in God when things are going well. But when our lives inevitably don't go so well, do we cling closer to Him than ever, or do we start to fade away? People often ask what God wants of them. It's simple...to be obedient. So in this case, He just wants to see us place our trust in Him, no matter what.
