And now, a word from...

"Salvation is from our side a choice; from the divine side it is a seizing upon, an apprehending, a conquest by the Most High God. Our accepting and willing are reactions rather than actions."

Good enough?

The news of late was full of reports about the death of Eunice Kennedy Shriver, a well-known member of the Kennedy political family. She is most and best remembered for founding the Special Olympics, a wonderful organization which has helped many with disabilities. Some might say her tireless charitable efforts indicate what a good person she was. Folks without a Biblical worldview would likely say that this sounds like someone "good enough" to get to Heaven. Those of us who use the Bible as our standard for truth know that it clearly states that good works are not enough for anyone. Who can measure up to the perfect standards of our completely holy and just God? No one. Without saving faith in Jesus Christ, you are lost. We all start out guilty, and there's no way around that, without repenting and placing our lives in His hands. It's like robbing a bank, and giving all of the money to charity. Does that make it ok? Certainly not. Want to know more? Why not take the "good person" test? You can find it here. Be patient, sometimes the screens take a moment of two to load (to allow you time to read them). I hope Mrs. Shriver did know Jesus before she died. I hope and pray that if you don't, that you'll seek Him out. Soon. While there's still time for you.
